Hello ALL! :-)

Hello friends!!After a long time we are meeting here,eh?? ;-) Others like ICC & ANUPAM are completely out-of blogging while MTM,CW & TCP are bit inconsistent!ohh ye,,me too in the same line!But no more from now onwards,I guess! ;-) And positive side is PRABHAT & TPH are doing wonderful jobs by posting in a regular interval,specially Prabhat!Keep it up buddies.... :D
In between I was experimenting with some new things in Comics strips,,,and the latest one is hunting for old Bengali Mandrake strips(B/W) and then re-arranging/editing those to create a book-format!In this process I've collected a few Bengali Mandrake strips in a single-strip/page format and then converting 'em in a regular book-frame! This takes some times though,but I'm working on it and soon here will be a NEW Bengali strips for our Bengali fans of this fascinating Magician and be sure that it's English version is yet-to-be appeared in On-line ,be it in Bala's MTM blog or Aman's On-line site!So just wait for few more days friends... :-)
By the way,I was also converting colored English strips with Bengali fonts(from the b/w version),in order to get a colored Bengali version of the same!here's one sample...

In order to keep the original coloring intact,I'd to re-colored some panels(after putting the Bengali texts in place of English counter-part) .So,you can understand it's been bit tiresome job,but at the same time pretty exciting(& fun) too,,,:-)

Comic #20:Phantom Strip(Colored) :The Hanta Witch(D091)

For a change,have this special Phantom strip which appeared in India only as Diamond Digest#11 (as again due to some controversial scripting,ToI preferred to omit it in Indrajal!).

Now,there's a very "interesting" incident associated wid this colored strip .When I received it from Andreas months ago,I was carrying this notion that this fabulous coloring was done by Sy Barry himself,as without a professional,such quality(which you'll see soon) is nearly unattainable!!

So,during mailing,I once told 'some' friend about this amazing coloring n sent him the d/l link! I thought 'he' would be amazed...but holla,he replied back as "well,this strip was definitely not inked by Barry,in fact it was done by ME few years back."!!!
ohh...I was shocked like a hell...I asked whether he just jokin' but no..he was not & when I asked Andreas about it ...he confirmed,it was originally a B/W Daily(as usual) and indeed inked by this man:Ivan Pederson of Norway!!!All thanks for his such a talented show-case! :o))

WOW!!! I simply loved this coloring....he also done inking in some others strips which I'll put in future asap!!(Wid this quality,one will simply label the DC coloring as rubbish!!..what a pity,DC used pretty poor & 'art-destroying' coloring in BOTH Phantom & Mandrake strips!!!! :-(( )
Now,lets enjoy his creation wid the thrilling script of Falk & supported by equally brilliant art-work of Barry ..between,it's a 1965 Phantom Daily!

The Magician In Color

Hi friends,after a long time,I'm back here ! Phew.....actually from last couple of weeks,I'm planning to do something new & can't find any better than this ...... yes, i done an Inker-job in Mandrake -the magician's B/W Daily strips ...
The basis of this project is my affinity to read the Mandrake comics in color. Yes,I always prefer to see this amazing Magician in his famous blue-red out-fit with others in their usual trade-marks (specially,is it need to say,we want Narda-the charming princess in her fabulous colored out-fits! ;-))).

So, after reading a good number of Mandrake's B/W strips (both on paper & scan) of '90s .....i thought why not color them by myself ???
It sounds bit crazy ,but then I'd a hobby in drawing,specially in coloring.... color means for me everything,i just love to play with colors! Instead of this MS painting is bit monotonous (specially controlling the mouse,then inking the finer points very patiently etc) ,but i already made my mind, later my younger bro also joined in this Color Project . He also has a fascination in coloring/inking like me,so it's quite fun & gr8 pass-time for us nowadays,though most of the inking (& bit editing ;-)) done by me,due to his schooling/examination etc....

Here's is the FIRST FOUR samples of my Colored strips with the Original B/W (ALL from Mandrake's Triple Wedding strips D226 -228;1997-98) .I'm NOW coloring ONLY those strips which are more interesting (according to script) & also gimme many chances to explore with many colors....

So, may be,the strips are bit discrete,but after sometimes, i may back with day-to-day colored strips...
(B/W Strips are provided by another ardent Mandrake-fan-site,who's doing a great job by making available many old mandrake strips).

P.S.- It's my small tribute to great Falk for his Legendary creation & Fredricks for his passionating art-work.
Also,it's most probably the FIRST attempt by any mandrake-fan to Ink this B/W strips & publish on-line .........hope,i'll continue it for ever ......

And, Aleena has promised to appear in the next release (i guess,she needs NO intro!)& with Narda as well..... i guess, sharing same scene by these ladies is always a treat for fans ;-) .So, wait until they appear....

Now,for this time,have these ones......lemme know,if this Color Project is worth to continue OR these colored strips are best to save in my PC. ;-))
